DETROIT — Bryan Meklir, CEO of Blue Team Restoration, a national restoration company with sales of $70 million has acquired Young & Sons Drying and Restoration, a Detroit company with sales of $3 million owned by CEO Robert Young. The acquisition became final in August for an undisclosed amount.

Meklir and Young are cousins, both born in Detroit and passionate about the city, ready to work together to help with the city’s revival. Young is already working with the Bedrock Property Management team on special projects to help restore and protect the historic buildings in downtown Detroit.

Blue Team Restoration is headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida with offices in Tampa Bay, Orlando and Jacksonville; Dallas and Houston, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland and equipment distribution centers in North Carolina and Oklahoma. Meklir founded the company in 1995. He also owns BBMK, a contracting division. Meklir is a Michigan State graduate who was born in Detroit and loves it — and now he has fulfilled one of his dreams to become a part of the city’s revival. The Blue Team opened their Midwest operations hub in Livonia, Michigan in early 2015.

Blue Team Restoration: Recent Events

nationwide disaster recovery and restoration

When cousins Bryan Meklir and Robert Young were growing up in Southfield, they spent a snow day building a snow fort so elaborate that they wound up on the evening news.

That collaboration - and the others that followed - might have foreshadowed the cousins' recent business deal.

In August, Meklir, 39, owner and founder of Blue Team Restoration, a disaster-recovery company, and BBMK, a contracting division, bought Young's company, Young & Sons Drying and Restoration.

Young & Sons was dissolved, but the business that Young, 45, built was rolled into Blue Team Restoration.
